There’s a good chance that you don’t know much about Hospice.

Maybe a physician recommended it. Then again, there’s a good chance that your loved one’s physician never uttered the word Hospice. Maybe a friend, someone at church, or a neighbor suggested it to you. Certainly as a society, Hospice has evolved in a unique way. It’s only been in the U.S. for around 30 years and although hospice programs share a lot of similarities, Hospice through Providence Home Health & Hospice Care stands apart from others due to its Christ-centered approach.

Regardless of how you first heard of Hospice, you’ve visited our site for a reason, and for many of you that reason is to learn whether or not we can improve the quality of your loved one’s final months.

If you and your loved one want the kind of Christ-centered care that emphasizes dignity and quality of life, focuses on caring rather then curing, and attempts to enrich the lives of all those involved, then Providence Home Health & Hospice Care can offer comfort and dignity to your family during this difficult time in life.

Praise be to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort.

2 Corinthians 1:3

How do you care for a loved one who is dying?

It’s something that will never come easy and at times can be extremely difficult to deal with. That’s why we’re here to help.

Your loved one’s primary physician works with our medical director and the rest of our Hospice team. We have a fresh and energetic staff. Now you might wonder how a staff can be energetic when dealing with the impact of death and dying. We are professionals in Hospice care and have been specially trained in managing symptoms, controlling pain and caring for the psychological, social, emotional and spiritual needs of a loved one. We approach death and dying not as an end of life but as the beginning of a new life with Christ. Knowing that we are helping someone begin a new life with Christ certainly energizes our staff!

Terminally ill loved ones with less than six months to live can live their lives to the fullest by choosing to reside in their own homes, the home of a family member, or a friend, or possibly in a skilled nursing facility. We offer comfort-oriented services to any person with a life limiting illness with months rather than years to live. We also emphasize that dealing with grief is an important part of the Hospice process. Therefore, we offer bereavement services for at least a year after your loved one’s death.

We exist in the hope and belief that through appropriate care, you and your loved one may be free to attain a degree of mental and spiritual preparation for death.

Our Hospice care team consists of a large group of compassionate individuals with distinct roles. Each person plays an important part in developing and carrying out a “plan of care” for your loved one.
