The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) is an independent, not-for-profit organization. JCAHO evaluates and accredits nearly 18,000 health care organizations in the United States, including many of Rest Haven’s facilities. JCAHO has set the standards by which health care quality is measured in America and around the world.
JCAHO developed and implemented a stringent screening process. Rest Haven has passed such an evaluation and received accreditation from JCAHO. We maintain and have earned accreditation by undergoing extensive on-site review by JCAHO professionals. These professionals review our facility’s performance in areas that affect the residents’ quality of care. This accreditation is only awarded to those organizations that maintain the highest standards of quality for healthcare.
Rest Haven is committed to providing the ultimate level of quality care to all of its residents and that is one of the reasons we utilize JCAHO and other quality improvement tools. Attaining the JCAHO gold seal of approval demonstrates compliance to the firmest standards of quality performance.
For additional information about JCAHO please visit their website at jcaho.org.

All Rest Haven retirement communities participate in an on-going screening process called Quality Rated Retirement Community (QRRC). This process was developed and implemented by Life Services Network of Illinois (LSN).
This voluntary process measures our facilities’ strengths and weaknesses against strict standards of quality in service areas. The unique thing about QRRC is that there is no other process for quality review of all types of assisting living and retirement housing. Furthermore, under assisted living legislation in Illinois, all providers must demonstrate that they are implementing a quality improvement process in order to receive mandatory licensure.
For further information about QRRC, visit lsni.org or send an email to info@lsni.org.

All employees, volunteers, and board members of Rest Haven represent a Christian cause to the residents, their families, visitors and the community. As we work each day, we represent a Christian not-for-profit organization, which has a primary goal of excellent service to residents. Historically, it was Christianity that gave the impetus to the establishment of facilities that cared for the elderly, the weak, the helpless, the sick and the dying. Rest Haven is founded, therefore, in keeping with that tradition and in obedience to the bible. The reason we work is to extend the compassion and healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
Because our work is a direct extension of the ministry of Jesus Christ, we follow specific codes of conduct within the Rest Haven Compliance Program. We treat everyone with respect and dignity and are honest, dependable and loyal to one another. We avoid conflicts between personal interests and the interests of Rest Haven. Our associates keep accurate work records and protect assets, confidential information and the property of our residents. We do not accept gifts from customers nor do we give anything in excess of $50 to customers or referral sources. All Rest Haven associates are familiar and comply with the laws and regulations that apply to their work duties. Lastly, each associate is responsible to ensure that these standards of conduct are always met. For additional information on our Compliance Program, click here.

Rest Haven has always been committed to quality. For nearly 15 years we’ve made special efforts to measure quality at all levels of our organization. At Rest Haven we base Quality Service on three things: Customer Service, Quality Care and Physical Environment. Quality in the care we provide is essential to our success and to everyone’s well being. In measuring the different levels of service and by using specific tools for accurate measurements, we have been able to maintain a good level of quality.
We have attained JCAHO accreditation for all our eligible facilities and we employ quality-related team meetings and training at all our facilities. We are pleased to report that our admission and discharge questionnaires have resulted in an average of 94% of our clients saying they were satisfied with our services and would recommend our facilities to others.
One of the top reasons we have a great reputation is the commitment and quality of our staff. Those who have taken the challenge to serve our senior saints with love and devotion are among the noblest people in the world. They perform tasks that are challenging, and they often do this at a great personal sacrifice. We respect them and salute their kindness.
Quality Vision Statement of Rest Haven:
Rest Haven Christian Services will be recognized as the premier geriatric health care system striving consistently to surpass professional quality standards, exceed performance of its peers, meet all expectations of those it serves, and promote an exceptional work environment.
