HOMER GLEN, Ill. (Friday, June 2, 2006) – Victorian Village, a Senior Living Community in Homer Glen, hosted their first Veterans Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, June 1, for a crowd of 34 people. “We wanted to honor all the people who have given us the freedoms we enjoy each and every day,” says Annette Gioiosa, Sales Director at Victorian Village.
Ray Dering, a resident at the Grand Victorian Independent Living campus, led the crowd in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, after which all service groups were saluted and applauded.

Immediately following the breakfast, a group of 25 residents visited the Cantigny Museum in Wheaton, Illinois, to tour the First Division Museum. “You could see that many of these veterans were just brought right back to the time and place they served during World War II,” says Gioiosa. “It was a meaningful visit.” The group stayed to enjoy the beautiful gardens with a picnic lunch.
