VILLAGE WOODS RESIDENTS TO PERFORM AT CHICAGO BULLS GAMES

CRETE, Ill. (November 2005) - Eighteen members of Village Woods Christian Retirement Community have been selected as the newest dance troupe providing time-out entertainment to Chicago Bulls fans. The Chicago Bulls Swingin’ Seniors dance team will become part of an entertainment rotation that includes the Junior Luvabulls (girl cheerleaders aged 7-17), the BullsKidz (hip-hop boys and girls aged 6-12), and the Matadors (large men), who take turns performing at Bulls’ home games along with the Luvabulls, who appear at every game. “Bulls fans represent a broad range of demographics,” says Cathy Core, coordinator of the dance teams, “so we want our entertainment to reflect that variety. The Swingin’ Seniors are an important addition to the mix.”

The Village Woods team has been rehearsing since September with Evadney King, a member of the Luvabulls who lives in Lansing and directs the dance ministry at her church in South Holland. Their first appearance as the Chicago Bulls Swingin’ Seniors will be at the December 5 game against Dallas. The Bulls will provide a bus to pick up the Swingin’ Seniors at Village Woods in time for a pre-game rehearsal on the court that evening.

The 2005-2006 Swingin’ Seniors dance team includes Bill Ball, Archie Bazuin, Ellie Bazuin, Wilma De Groot, Edie Gritter, Jim Gritter, Fred Hartman, Leanne Huizenga, Carolyn Jernberg, Paul Jernberg, Marge Kickert, Betty Kipley, Hilda Oostman, Nancy Pharazyn, Audrey Ridder, Elton Schoon, Rena Van Wieren, and Carol Vroegh.
