Dining in Style: Holland Home Assisted Living Residents begin remodeling |

South Holland, Ill. (February 2007) – While the main dining area of South Holland’s Holland Home was beautifully upgraded to great acclaim more than a year ago, the dining experience on the fourth floor remained unchanged—until this February. “Our fourth floor residents—that is, our assisted living residents—are ready now,” says Administrator Deana Wilson. “They are ready for an upgrade, and they deserve it. So we are excited to put the plans into motion.”
Deana and her team are working with Lagestee-Mulder, a commercial construction and real estate firm, on an expanded dining room that will re-flow traffic to minimize interruptions and create a quieter, more relaxing dining experience. Construction begins in February, with hopes of completion by spring. In addition to physical renovations, the plans include re-decorating with a richer color palette and some upgraded furniture elements. “It will really be nice,” says Deana. Deana is anticipating celebrating the enhanced fourth-floor dining experience with an Open House in the summer or fall. The Open House for the main dining area was well-attended by residents, family members, neighboring businesses, and the general public, all of whom were favorably impressed by the improvements. “It was a wonderful way to celebrate our tradition of service in this community—we’ve been here 35 years now—and to say thank-you to the people we’ve served,” says Deana.
