“Senior Prom” at Victorian Village |

HOMER GLEN, Ill. (Saturday, February 16, 2008) – “’Senior Prom’ takes on a whole new meaning when we have it here!” laughs Annette Gioiosa, Sales Director at Victorian Village, a Christian Retirement Community in Homer Glen. The seniors at her campus have participated in an intergenerational prom with students from Lockport Township High School’s Interact Club for the past the past several years, and it has become an event that everyone looks forward to.
“It’s really a lot of fun,” says Annette. “The high school Jazz Band provides the music, and the students and residents dance with each other and share stories about their lives. It’s very sweet.” The prom culminates with the traditional crowning of a King and Queen, chosen from among the resident population. “It’s quite an honor,” says Annette, “and usually the next day our hallways are buzzing with talk about that couple and about the whole evening.” This year’s intergenerational prom is scheduled for Saturday, February 16, beginning at 6:00pm.
