We strive to provide residents with high quality food service that meets their personal nutritional needs. Our licensed dietician and certified dietary manager review each resident’s diet and nutritional needs. Together, they develop a diet that satisfies one’s tastes while providing the necessary nutritional values for the resident.
Residents are interviewed upon admission to determine their diet history. Interventions are planned for any special needs. Individual food preferences are honored, within dietary limitations, to increase the satisfaction in meals being served.
Every month our residents choose a meal of their choice during a Resident Council meeting. The input of our residents is considered when holiday meals are prepared to help create a homelike environment.
Our licensed dietician plans a four-week cycle menu. This menu is seasonal to provide appropriate food selections. Substitutions are available for meals of equal nutritional values.
Our activity and dietary staffs work closely with one another to plan special events for everyone to enjoy. The “Taste or Rest Haven” is one of our favorites. We let our vendors host a wonderful, small food show at this time. Another example is our Men’s Club. They have a monthly breakfast that is very successful and enjoyed by all who attend. There are many other food-related events that take place throughout the year for our residents and their families.
